About the artist

Well, hello there!

I'm Aramenta Merise.

Family is everything to me. As the youngest of eight, I have looked up to my big brothers and sisters my whole life... and then I grew taller than a lot of them. They made me an aunt of 14 exceptional individuals who became my first photo subjects and some of my favourite humans. Now I have kids of my own and new milestones to capture. My family photos are my most valuable possessions. It's a great privilege to create custom heirloom pieces for families to pass on through generations. 

I've always been a photographer, even when I wasn't. I studied theatre in university and then went to college for graphic design, but I always gravitated towards the camera. I took headshots for my theatre friends. I incorporate photography in my design work whenever possible. At every family function, I have my camera ready. When I finally decided to make photography my career, it was like a light turned on. I absolutely love making a people feel confident by taking a good picture. My job is actually to make people smile. It's the best job in the world!
